It’s the morning after a wedding on a picturesque farm in the South African countryside. The ensemble of guests wake up with varied levels of being hungover, but equally unaware of exactly what happened the night before. Relationships as fragile as bodies, the crawl back home must begin.
Gerrie and Lukas, the best men, happen upon the bridegroom Pieter in an unexpected situation in the honeymoon suite - the woman he nakedly lies next to, is not his bride. In a fit of scared confusion the best men decide to save their friend from the unholy situation and steal his passed out body from the bed, throwing him in their car and taking off - leaving the unknown woman to wake up alone and abandoned.
Another woman wakes, in car parked in the middle of a sunflower field. She climbs out of the car, with a floppy white dress - it’s the Bride.
As the day unfolds, so does the night before. The single-day narrative is told non-linearly; as the ensemble head home and away, time cuts to the day before; The guests arrive, the ceremonies and celebrations begin. The unknown woman in the bed turns out to be a Waitress, and the Bride seems to be unsure of the big event that lies ahead.
But the show must go on. The alcohol must flow. And being young must survive, if only for tonight.
