Founded in 2000, The Valley Film Festival, a project of Community Partners®, holds the proud title of the first film festival in L.A.’s San Fernando Valley and is designed to bring together established filmmakers, emerging talent, and their audiences on the studio backlot - just North of Hollywood.

Since it's premiere in 2001, alongside the grand reopening of Pacific Theatres at the Sherman Oaks Galleria, The Valley Film Festival has found a permanent home at the historic El Portal Theatre located in the NoHo Arts District.

Additionally, The Valley Film Festival has recently partnered with TribeHollywood.com, an entertainment networking site, to promote and develop a showcase of cinema so independent, it can only be found in L.A.’s San Fernando Valley.

It’s so (818). Totally.

Our Vision:

First and foremost, The Valley Film Festival promotes filmmakers and production in the fabulous (818)! From the East Valley to the West Valley, no two communities are the same and each offers a unique setting for your film shoot. Our signature program, “Made in the (818)” showcases our commitment to keeping production local.

As the festival grows, The Valley Film Festival inches closer to realizing 818 - a foundation for filmmakers and audiences to connect through screenings, panel discussions and workshops.

Our Funding:

The Valley Film Festival is an activity of Community Partners, a nonprofit charity exempt from federal income tax under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, and which is not a private foundation because it is described in Sections 509(a)(1) and 170 (b)(1)(a)(vi).

Due to the limited grants available for arts organizations with an emphasis in film, The Valley Film Festival relies on volunteers, corporate sponsorship and private donors who share the same enthusiasm of furthering the exhibition, production and education of filmmaking.
