Tutti, and his father Chi Cho, haven’t always had the greatest relationship. Although Chi Cho supports his family financially, he lacks the ability to support them emotionally and morally. Fingerdance tells the story of Tutti, a Chicano kid from East L.A., and his growing resentment towards his violent and harsh father. The film takes us through Tutti’s childhood memories of growing up in East L.A. during the 1970’s, as he tries to piece such memories together in order to make sense of their broken relationship. When Chi Cho is diagnosed with stomach cancer and is left physically and mentally helpless, Tutti is left trying to figure out how to make the best of such memories in order to start a new relationship with his father in his last days.
